A little about us and the 3 trainers available.

My mother and co-owner Deborah Perkins of Milestone Equine Farm and Sanctuary has been training horses for 50 years. She specializes in the handling of stallions and does all of the ground work on our horses that are brought into our program. She is very skilled and knowledgeable with ground work. She believes in patience and that horses learn at their pace not at ours. She is very caring and absolutely loves working with horses. She is seen working with Dolly. It was actual Deb who got us started within the horse business again. She purchased a 15 y/o OTTB in October of 2006. Final Challenge had more training than the people who had her and was basically a pasture pal for 2 draft horses until we bought her.

My name is Mikki Perkins and I have been showing horses since I was 5 years old. I have trained all of my own show horses and I competed at local shows and in 4H until I joined the military after graduating High School. I spent almost 10 years all together giving my time, life, and service to the military until I finally settled down enough to get back into the horse business. I competed at States 3 times with 3 separate horses. I do most of the retraining and advanced showmanship training with the horses. I specialize in western pleasure, reining, riding, and gaming. We are opening our training experience to outside horses and we are looking forward to teaching your horses the way we have taught ours. I purchased my first, get back into the business, horses in December of 2006. I actually bought two horses who were in desperate need of care and love. The one horse, lady was so underweight it broke our heart to see her. She'd also been beat and was very people leery. I purchased her and a gelding and spent the next year rehabilitating them. Both have since then been placed in new homes with loving caring people who continued to show them the love and affection that they were receiving here with us. I am also the camera woman so getting me in a picture actually on a horse is almost impossible.

The other trainer available is Brian Fuller, my brother-in-law. He has over 20 years experience with training horses and showmanship. Brian is very caring and patient with the horses and specializes in the problem horses and breaking. Brian specializes in breaking and has been broken himself more than once but continues to work with the horses as he truly enjoys working with them. Brian does all of the breaking and is the first to get on any new horse that we have taken in. You will not find a more caring or skillful person. He recently broke my 6 year old stallion Officer. We look forward to talking with you! He is pictured on El Vaquero bareback (good thing he has a daughter on the way!!!) Brian is excellent with the horses and does a great job with the breaking and basic riding. He's finally coming around to our training methods so now I don't have to do all of the advanced training and showmanship work with the horses. We are thrilled to have him aboard!
